Our Free Dental Day this last Saturday was a huge success. Thank you to all of the volunteers, sponsors, and patients for making the event a fantastic experience.
On October 8th, 2022 we hosted a “Free Dental Day” for the children in our community who may not otherwise have access to dental care. We had dozens of volunteers show up for the day, many of which are full-time weekday employees at Summit Dental & Orthodontics. They graciously donated their time and talents throughout the day.
We provided limited dental services like cleanings, sealants, fillings, and tooth extractions at no cost to the more than 50 patients we saw. Healthy teeth are essential to a child’s overall health. When a child has a tooth problem it can cause them to lose sleep, lack focus, and suffer when eating. Sometimes infections can form which can’t be seen, which is why it’s so important to come to the dentist for a regular checkup.
The team of volunteers that organized the event, and really were the crucial piece to pulling it all together was a group of local high school students. Several of the students currently work at Summit Dental & Orthodontics. Below is a video of Dr. Scott, and the students preparing for the event, and describing more about their goal for the event.

We hope to continue this tradition in the future, and help the kids in our community.
