When should my child have their first orthodontic evaluation?

Many children benefit from an orthodontic evaluation around age 7, because growth and bite development can be easier to monitor early. That does not mean treatment starts at 7. It simply helps parents understand timing.

Does every child need braces?

No. Some children need braces, some need monitoring, and some may not need treatment at all. The assessment helps determine what makes sense for your child.

What if treatment isn't needed yet?

That can be good news. Summit Dental can explain what to watch for and when it may make sense to reassess growth, bite, or spacing.

What happens during the assessment?

How long does the appointment take?
